Unhealthy foods are related to the death of about 2 million people a year, affects people of all ages, particularly children under five years and those who live in the less developed regions of the world, cause more than 200 diseases, ranging from diarrhea to cancer, becoming one of the greatest health hazards worldwide, this situation also generates high costs for medical care and loss of productivity.

By the shown; In order to involve and strengthen the participation of producers, industry and other key actors, in the adoption of good practices of production, preparation and collection of food, our country celebrates for the second time from November 5 to 9, 2018, the National Week of Food Safety, with the slogan: "Safe food for consumers around the world, anytime, anywhere".

For this occasion, and as part of the cooperation agreement between both entities, the Risk Analysis and Biotechnology Committee of ILSI Mesoamerica will support the activity with the development of the Food Safety Symposium in the Food Industry and Food Services.
