The objectives of this ILSI meeting of science, industry and academic experts were to:

  • Understand role of sugars in the diet and gain an understanding of current consumption trends in Australia and New Zealand
  • Identify potential scientific research gaps
  • Understand what consumers think about sugar – perceptions, attitudes and behaviours.
