Em 2009, o International Life Sciences Institute (ILSI) Health and Environmental Sciences Institute (HESI), com a participação de mais de 120 indivíduos provenientes de 12 países, 15 instituições governamentais, 20 universidades, 2 organizações não-governamentais e 12 corporações criaram o projeto “Risk Assessment in the 21st Century – RISK21”(avaliação do risco no século 21). RISK 21 é uma estratégia integrada de avaliação que enfatiza um problema de risco da exposição baseado na formulação de problema, tirando proveito das informações existentes. A matriz do RISK21, uma ferramenta que facilita a visualização da intersecção da exposição e dados sobre toxicidade, tem o potencial de ampliar o espectro de comunicação do risco para além daqueles que possuem expertise técnica. O resultado final é uma estratégia metodológica e transparente para tomada de decisão baseada no risco.
Mini-Symposium on The New Frontier: Diet, Microbiome and Health
