Explore the latest research on food packaging safety and sustainability


ILSI Europe International Symposium on Food Packaging is held every four years. It is internationally recognised as a scientific forum to discuss and move forward the science that supports safety and innovation in the field, with minimal environmental impact. This conference of experts facilitates transfer of knowledge and brings innovative solutions to the most pressing issues in this field.

The 8th edition will take place at the Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel, in Dubrovnik, Croatia during four days from 1 to 4 April 2025. It will be structured around five main themes:

To ensure your comfort, ILSI Europe has prebooked rooms at a special rate at the Valamar Hotel where the conference will take place. To secure your accommodation and access this special rate, please register for the event. Once registered, you will receive the booking link in your email.

We strongly recommend that you make your booking as soon as possible. The number of rooms available at the special rate is limited, and we want to make sure you don't miss out on this opportunity to guarantee your stay at the event venue.

- Single Room Rate: 140€/night

About the event

The aim of this workshop is to review and discuss existing guidelines for conducting clinical trials on probiotics, with a focus on their unique characteristics. The workshop will highlight gaps in current guidelines and explore ways to enhance them, ensuring the design and execution of robust, high-quality studies.

Recognized experts in the field will participate in this workshop to help shape the future of probiotics research. Through interactive discussions, we aim to:

BACKGROUND

Across Southeast Asia, the rising prevalence of chronic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes and heart disease, has sparked growing consumer demand for healthier diets. In response, governments are implementing policies and initiatives to increase the availability of healthier food options.

Food reformulation plays a vital role in these initiatives, modifying food and beverage products to improve their nutritional profile, taste, safety and overall quality. The 2021 ASEAN Leaders' Declaration on Food Reformulation has also spurred innovations and increased production of reformulated food products in Southeast Asia, helping its population shift towards healthier, more nutritious and sustainable diets for improved health outcomes.

ILSI SEA Region will organize this one-day symposium to share updates and valuable insights from leading experts and officials from academia, government agencies and the food industry across the region.

El curso online sobre el Programa de Etiquetado General y Nutricional de Alimentos Envasados, es un proyecto liderado por el Comité de Nutrición y Tecnología de Alimentos de ILSI Mesoamérica, con colaboración del Centro Nacional de Ciencia y Tecnología de Alimentos (CITA) en la Universidad de Costa Rica.

Objetivo General del curso: Que el participante aplique de acuerdo a su entorno laboral el Reglamento Técnico Centroamericano de etiquetado general para alimentos previamente envasados (RTCA 67.01.02:10) y el Reglamento Técnico Centroamericano de etiquetado nutricional de productos alimenticios preenvasados para consumo humano para la población a partir de 3 años de edad (RTCA 67.01.60:10) vigentes.

El curso está dirigido a todo el personal de instituciones y empresas de alimentos en la región centroamericana cuya función es generar la información técnica en las etiquetas, asesorar, revisar y aprobar etiquetado general de alimentos previamente envasados y etiquetado nutricional de productos alimenticios preenvasados para consumo humano para la población a partir de 3 años de edad.

Metodología del curso: Se utilizará una plataforma virtual para la cual cada participante tendrá un usuario y clave de acceso. El curso utilizará herramientas como videos, documentos de apoyo y actividades para la puesta en práctica de los conocimientos adquiridos.

Duración: Del 28 de abril al 08 de junio, 2024 (25 horas, 5 semanas)

ILSI Europe International Symposium on Food Packaging is held every four years. It is internationally recognised as a scientific forum to discuss and move forward the science that supports safety and innovation in the field, with minimal environmental impact. This conference of experts facilitates transfer of knowledge and brings innovative solutions to the most pressing issues in this field.

The 8th edition will take place at the Valamar Lacroma Dubrovnik Hotel, in Dubrovnik, Croatia during four days from 1 to 4 April 2025. It will be structured around five main themes:

Booking policy

For rooms pre-booked by ILSI Europe: participants can cancel their hotel booking free of charge until December 18th, 2024. After this date, 100% of the booking fee will be charged.
