Dr. Field is a professor at the University of Alberta in the Agriculture, Life and Environmental Sciences faculty where she holds a Canada Research Chair in Human Nutrition and Metabolism. She is a former ILSI Future Leader and a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and the Canadian Nutrition Society. She currently serves on the Governing Board for ILSI U.S. and Canada's Joint Governance Committee.
