Nutrition and Food Technology

The work committees of ILSI Mesoamerica are the spaces in which academia, governments, and industry establish joint work opportunities and develop activities for the region.

The Committee of Nutrition and Food Technology is a multidisciplinary team of collaborators that seek to improve the quality of life of people through the science of nutrition and the application of food science to the proposed research projects.

From its beginning this committee established the following work topics:

Nutritional labeling, nutritional statements                      Food fortification
and relationship of additives with health

Activities carried out in 2017:

1- Within the framework of the agreement with the Ministry of Economy, Industry, and Commerce (MEIC) and at the request of the members of the committee, on February 2, the first CODEX training was held. Eng. Amanda Lasso made the presentation: CODEX-ILSI Mesoamerica.
