The Sustainable Development Goals (2015-2030), are an initiative promoted by the United Nations to continue the development agenda after the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). There are 17 objectives and 169 goals proposed as a continuation of the MDGs including new areas such as climate change, economic inequality, innovation, sustainable consumption and peace, and justice, among other priorities.

Following a negotiation process on the SDGs that involved 193 UN member states, on September 25, 2015, the 193 world leaders approved at a summit held in New York at a high-level plenary meeting of the General Assembly, an Agenda entitled “Transforming our world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development,” which entered into force on January 1, 2016.

ILSI as a unique organization in the world has decided to generate activities in accordance with the SDGs (objectives for sustainable development) dictated by FAO - UN which will allow us to continue being relevant to society, industry, academia and the planet.

For this reason, the Food Nutrition and Technology Committee and the Board of Directors of ILSI Mesoamerica invite you to the conference that FAO representatives in the country will give us on the date noted at the University of Costa Rica, in the same way, we will have a link available for remote connection.
