Nanotechnology is the science of manipulating matter on an atomic and molecular scale to solve problems. Nanotechnology is an applied developmental science, with the potential to make significant contributions in many fields, including engineering, computer science, and medicine. (Schloss, J, s.f)

Nanotechnology is an area of research, as well as its application in the manufacture of devices and products, that studies the properties of materials that are between one and 100 nanometers in size. What is a nanometer? It is 10 at least nine meters. That is one ten-thousandth of the diameter of human hair. Another way of looking at it, the DNA molecule is about two and a half nanometers in diameter. (Schloss, J, s.f)

ILSI Mesoamerica, the National Nanotechnology Laboratory (LANOTEC), and the Technical Standards Institute of Costa Rica (INTECO), all participants of the National Nanotechnology Committee, cordially invite you to the second webinar that seeks to publicize more information about Nanotechnology, its importance, its uses, as well as the steps that are being taken for its standardization.
