The objective of this study was to determine the BMI (Body Mass Index), the self-esteem and the level of physical activity of the children of the second cycle of the city of San Salvador. 11 schools participated: 359 (47 %) were girls and 399 (53 %) girls, with an average age of 11.49 ± 1.34 years, a height of 147.11 ± 0.10 cm, and a weight of 47.53 ± 13.758 Kg. Weight, height was evaluated, body mass index, the perception of physical activity and self-esteem, through the Physical Activity Questionnaire for Older Children (PAQ-C), and Lawrence Self-Esteem Questionnaire (LAWSEQ).
It is concluded that the data obtained in the variables of body mass index, physical activity level, and self-esteem in the students evaluated are alarming, which suggests the need to develop strategies for the intervention of this problem.

The objective of this study was to analyze the prevalence of overweight, obesity, levels of physical activity and self-esteem of the school population of San Pedro Sula. The sample was 825 schoolchildren aged 9-13 years, which were divided into 416 women and 409 men. BMI measurements (Kg / H ^ 2), level of physical activity (PAQ-C) and self-esteem (LAWSEQ) were performed. A factor analysis (ANOVA) was performed to observe differences between groups and the Pearson correlation for the study of the relationship of variables with 95% confidence intervals.
Población y Salud en Mesoamérica (PSM), 2019
The objective was to analyze the prevalence of overweight and obesity, the level of physical activity and self-esteem of the II Cycle school population of the central canton of Heredia. It was a cross-sectional descriptive-comparative study in which 442 boys, fourth, fifth and sixth-grade students were analyzed, of which 234 were boys and 208 girls aged between 9 and 13 years. The measurement of weight and height was performed for the calculation of the body mass index, the physical activity questionnaire for older children (PAQ-C) and the LAWSEQ questionnaire for the measurement of self-esteem level was applied.

El objetivo de esta investigación fue analizar la prevalencia del sobrepeso u obesidad, los niveles de actividad física y de autoestima en una región escolar nicaragüense. Se evaluaron 731 estudiantes de 10 escuelas del departamento de León Nicaragua, de los cuales 260 fueron de cuarto, 226 de quinto y 245 de sexto grado, en edades entre los 9 y 13 años.

Los altos niveles de sobrepeso y obesidad que producen diabetes, hipertensión u otras enfermedades crónicas son un problema de salud pública, que inicia desde la infancia hasta alcanzar la edad adulta y alteran, directamente, la calidad de vida de la persona. El propósito de este estudio es determinar los niveles de sobrepeso y obesidad, los niveles de actividad física y de autoestima de escolares de 9 a 13 de edad, en 13 centros educativos de la ciudad de Panamá centro. Se evaluaron un total de 748 estudiantes.
