International experts from ILSI Japan, ILSI Korea and ILSI Southeast Asia Region were invited to speak on the system and regulation of foods with functional claims of their countries or region.
Dr. Andrew Roberts from ILSI Research Foundation shared the principle of food assessment for the products of agricultural biotechnology, providing history and setting the context. Dr. Wen-Shen Chu of Taiwan Food Industry Research and Development Institute also introduced the regulation and safety assessment for Genetically Modified Foods and Feeds in Taiwan.
The symposium is co-organized with National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences, National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Association of Official Analytical Communities (AOAC) Taiwan on May 23, 2018, in Taipei, Taiwan.
The symposium will share the international as well as the United States of America’s approaches and processes on food additive safety assessment, risk communication, harmonization and partnership in regulatory development, as well as technical barriers to trade in relation to food additives.
ILSI Taiwan held a press conference on Healthy Aging and Sarcopenia in conjunction with its International Conference on Healthy Aging and Sarcopenia on April 7, 2017. Conference speakers, branch leadership, and reporters from print, online, TV and radio media participated the event. The purpose of the press conference was to raise awareness of preventing Sarcopenia among the elderly in Taiwan.
