This publication from ILSI North America looks at low-calorie sweetener (LCS) consumption by product category and by consumer sociodemographic status. In addition to seeing LCS consumption from all food and beverage sources increase between 1999 and 2008, the authors found LCS use was more common among populations with a lower burden of obesity and related chronic disease.
