El Día Mundial de la Inocuidad de los Alimentos, que se celebrará el 7 de junio de 2024, llamará la atención sobre los incidentes relacionados con la inocuidad de los alimentos. El lema de este año subraya la importancia de estar preparados para los incidentes relacionados con la inocuidad de los alimentos, ya sean leves o graves. (FAO, 2024)
Los incidentes relacionados con la inocuidad de los alimentos son situaciones en las que existe un riesgo potencial o confirmado para la salud asociado al consumo de alimentos. Un incidente alimentario puede producirse, por ejemplo, como consecuencia de un accidente, un control inadecuado, un fraude alimentario o un fenómeno natural. (FAO, 2024)
La preparación para gestionar los incidentes relacionados con la inocuidad de los alimentos exige esfuerzos específicos por parte de las instancias normativas, las autoridades responsables de la inocuidad de los alimentos, los agricultores y los explotadores de empresas alimentarias, aunque los consumidores también pueden desempeñar un papel activo en esta cuestión. (FAO, 2024)

Se eligió el 28 de septiembre para festejar el aniversario de la fecha en que iniciaron las transmisiones de la serie 'Cosmos', uno de los programas de divulgación más influyentes de la historia.
Para el 2023, ILSI Mesoamérica tiene el gusto con contar con expertos conferencistas que llevarán a cabo un conversatorio sobre las vocaciones en ciencias, estrategias actuales, cómo han avanzado para este siglo XXI, las lecciones aprendidas y los retos.
