- Food and Water Safety
- Risk Science and Toxicology
- Nutrition and Health
- Sustainable Agriculture and Nutrition Security
- New Technologies in any of the above thematic areas
- Effectively demonstrate how the study will advance the field.
- You may submit more than one abstract, but you may NOT submit the same abstract to more than one thematic area.
- In total, the proposal text may contain up to but not more than 250 words. No images, charts, or tables are allowed.
- Abstracts may not be sales or marketing oriented.
- No fees are required to submit a proposal; however, if your proposal is accepted for presentation, the presenting author(s) MUST register for and attend the 2020 ILSI Annual Meeting & Science Symposium.
Your abstract will not be reviewed/accepted if all steps of the abstract submission process are not completed.
Submission Deadline
Friday, 6 December by 11:59 p.m. Eastern. (Submit abstracts in the form below) Submissions will be reviewed and notified as received. Submit early to take advantage of lower registration rates.
Proposal Notification
All authors who submitted by Friday, 15 November will be notified via email of abstract status by Friday, 22 November.
Registration
Poster abstract submissions are open to the public. NOTE: If your abstract is accepted for presentation, the presenting author(s) MUST register for and attend the 2020 ILSI Annual Meeting & Science Symposium. Membership is not required to submit an abstract or to register. All accepted abstracts will be given codes for Best Value Rate pricing.
Design and Layout
The following are suggestions for ensuring the readability and quality of posters:
- Poster size: Maximum Height 150 cm x Width 112 cm, Vertical Orientation
- Check for proper spelling and grammar.
- Use a standard typeface font.
- Ensure text is clear and concise.
- Important information should be readable from about 10 feet away.
- Use bullets, numbering, and headlines to make it easy to read.
- Include tables, figures, graphs, and color to enforce key points.
- Standard abbreviations may be used without definition, but nonstandard abbreviations/acronyms should be placed in parentheses after the first use of the terminology. It is important to keep nonstandard abbreviations/acronyms to a minimum, to allow for readability and understanding.
- Have a consistent and clean layout.
- Include any appropriate acknowledgments, your name, and institutional affiliation.
The Lightning Round is a unique opportunity for students and early career researchers to share their research in an oral presentation format that is exciting, challenging, and entertaining. All presentations must convey relevance to the theme 'Smart Eating for Health, Sustainability and Safety'. Each participant will be given 5 minutes and 5 slides to clearly present their work, challenging them to think carefully about how best to use the allotted time and visual aids. The presentations will be scored by a committee, and prizes will be awarded to the top two participants.
