Coronaviruses are an extensive family of viruses that can cause disease in both animals and humans. In humans, several coronaviruses are known to cause respiratory infections that can range from the common cold to more serious illnesses such as Middle East respiratory syndrome (MERS) and severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS). (CCSS, 2020).
The health crisis presents unprecedented managerial challenges. Business leaders know that their job is not to minimize risk, but to manage it. Since the coronavirus accentuated the uncertainty, many businessmen have started tasks to achieve the continuity of their organizations, such as the installation of a crisis committee, remote work schemes, the preparation of contingency plans, or the setting of financial scenarios for if the crisis lasts for 60, 90 or up to 180 days. (Forbes Central America, 2020)
The priorities are to take care of the health of the collaborators, at the same time as preserving the survival of the organization.
